Crete is the largest and most populous Greek island in the Mediterranean Sea. Crete was the center of the Minoan civilization (approximately 2600 to 1400 BC), the oldest form of Greek and European civilization. Now Crete is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe and the economy depends primarily on tourism, and almost no unemployed people. Crete is the first producer of olives for olive oil in history with roots back to 2500g. BC. Unfortunately, olives nutrition are rarely, mostly for home use and can be purchased on the market in major cities. Mostly mountainous, with the lower part of the north which is quite developed and populated, while the mountains have fishing villages and towns whose inhabitants are occupied with maintaining their olive plantations. Besides beaches, the memory will definitely keep me and the smell ... the island of olives. A beach has all sorts of ... like those around Halkidiki (dark sand, waves, muddy water ... still clean) to the beautiful seabury group shallow (lagoon type) with white sand beaches, waves and without clean, turquoise water. The smell of Crete
*** Photos from my trip and because I support seabury group the Creative Commons, if you share, linkajte back to this blog. Thanks in advance. Basic facts about basic travel facts about the Greek island will leave you to read Wikipedia, it will fill it with personal sightings of the trip. Period: 26.06-30.06 (2013) Number of passengers: 2 Relation Skopje -> Thessaloniki -> Chania, Crete (Chania) Since most of the beaches that you want to see is located on the western part of the island and did not have time for east , we decided to fly to Chania, Heraklion instead of (Heraklion), the city located seabury group in the central northern part and to which there are flights as well. Transport: Option 1: flight from Thessaloniki with Aegean air or Ryan air travel was nearly so at the last minute, tickets purchased 2 weeks before departure seabury group and the price was around seabury group 140 return card with both airlines, by the Ryan air further paid storage, so I decided to fly with Aegean seabury group air. However, it is cheaper if you are able to time (several months in advance) to purchase a card through Ryan air, just beware of the restrictions on luggage. It was interesting for the first time used the electronic boarding card, because the site of Aegean was able to use Passbook for users of iPhone .. this great find for us does not necessarily require a printer after web check-in and issuing a boarding card return, just as the Internet to download map 3 days before the flight. Option 2: drive into Athens and ferry to Chania (Chania) or Iraklion (Heraklion). If you have time to drive to Athens and then about 10 hours of sleep ferry, this option should be more cost-effective for a longer stay and ride around the circuit in Crete. Some reference prices for ferries can be found here. Transport through Crete: There are buses that drive around the north east-west and some that go to famous tourist places in north-south direction. seabury group However, the price for going from the airport to accommodations and back down to 2 important beaches where we had to go, and once to Heraklion schedule turned out that the cost of rent-a-car is about the same, and no car is permeated almost every day to be on the beach where we were placed in Platanja. So we rented a car for 150 for 9 days (although when we arrived on site we had a problem of additional guarantee of 900 appropriations credit card, so instead we had to pay a 40 more for full insurance, price received haggle with ... Be careful when you set the price be including excess) and around 80-90 spent on petrol ... very viable would have been if we had been renting for four rounds, but did not have much choice - without the car nothing will see the beach. Across Crete no tolls, there is a regional road in the role of the highway north from west to east, but down at the other beaches are local roads with two lanes, some on mountain villages and quite tesnichki, but nice all the asphalt, so it is not a problem seabury group with cheaper Seicento ... we were without hot climate though there's seabury group great weather, but not izvozevme 2h160km more than one day to Heraklion and no time to drive to the central southern part of the route by 100 km. However, so did about 1000km total of 9 days. We caught a super-moon day of return seabury group from the beach Places we visited: Cities: Chania, Heraklion, Kissamos, Stavros seabury group (if valid as a city) Beaches from north to south west Via: Balos (north towards Iraklion) Loutraki, Marathi, Sejtan Limanija / St.Stefanu Stavros seabury group (north Akrotiri - the peninsula where the airport of Chania) Ayia Marina, Platanja, Gerani (north west of Chania) Korfalonas (northwest, between Chania and Kissamos) Gramvusa seabury group Island and Balos Lagoon ( Ferry), Falasarna (northwest, i
